Sinoma Energy Conservation Ltd. Successfully Signs EPC Contract for Waste Heat Recovery and Biomass Project in Kenya

PublishDate:2025-12-11 Source:Sinoma Energy Conservation Ltd.

Recently, Sinoma Energy Conservation Ltd. officially signed the EPC contract for the 12MW cement kiln waste heat and 23MW biomass power plant project at the Ngaie Plant with National Cement Company Limited, a subsidiary of Kenya's DEVKI Group. The project contract was jointly signed by Wang Yi, Assistant to the President of the company and General Manager of Sinoma EC Engineering Branch; Ajay Balchandani, China Representative of National Cement Company Limited; and Gao Xiaru, General Manager of Shanghai Baiqiandai International Trading Co., Ltd.

This project marks another significant achievement for Sinoma Energy Conservation Ltd. in the Kenyan market, following the successful implementation of projects such as the NCCL waste heat power generation project, the Mombasa waste heat and captive power plant project, and the Kaloleni captive power plant project. It is also a landmark project for Sinoma Energy Conservation Ltd. in the East African market and serves as an important practice in supporting the China-Kenya collaboration under the Belt and Road Initiative and promoting regional green transformation.

As Kenya's largest diversified industrial group, DEVKI Group started as a small steel trading business in Nairobi and has grown over 30 years into a multi-industry conglomerate spanning steel, cement, and other sectors. Its industrial foundation naturally complements Sinoma Energy Conservation Ltd.'s green technologies.

Both parties expressed their commitment to using this project as a starting point to deepen strategic collaboration in the field of new energy. They plan to focus on exploring diversified cooperation directions, including photovoltaic power plant construction, energy storage system integration, and comprehensive energy management, to support Kenya in building a development model that combines "low-carbon transformation of traditional industries and large-scale adoption of renewable energy." This vision aligns with the green industrial layout along the Tanzania-Zambia Railway prosperity belt, which is currently being promoted in the East African region, injecting new momentum into China-Africa green cooperation.

The signing ceremony was attended by Zhang Fei, Deputy Director of the International Market Department of Sinoma EC Engineering Branch, and Zhang Jinpeng, Project Manager, among other representatives.
